Pogoplug Series 4 (POGO-V4-A3-01)

  • NAND: 128MB
  • Ethernet: Gigabit

  • 2.5 SATA/USM (Top)

Key Points

  • The Pogoplug Mobile and Series 4 uses the exact same PCB/SoC. The Series 4 has an additional two USB 3.0 ports added via PCIe. You can mod the Mobile and add SATA.
  • The USB 3.0 ports cannot be used for booting Arch Linux ARM or Debian.
  • On the Series 4, the USB 2.0 port is located on top, under the lid. If you want to boot via a USB flash drive and close the top lid you'll need to use a low profile USB drive such as the SanDisk Cruzer Fit.
  • The USB 3.0 ports on the Series 4 is limited by the 800Mhz CPU and will provide very little, if any performance gains over the USB 2.0 port on the Mobile.
  • The Series 4 SATA/USM slot will provide the best disk performance.
  • Both the Mobile and Series 4 is powered by a 12 volt, allowing it to be easily powered by a 12V car or motorcycle battery (think Car-puter).
  • The Series 4 cost roughly about twice as much as the Mobile (or about $10-12 more). In some cases, two Pogoplug Mobiles may make better sense than one Series 4.
